Description

Plot:

Continuing his studies at the College of Winterhold, Rugvir Hammer-Arm goes to the Archanium to learn about the Elder Scroll needed to defeat Alduin. He speaks to the librarian, Urag gro-Shub and asks if he has any books on the elder scrolls. Urag brings Rugvir a book called Ruminations on the Elder Scrolls. Rugvir is unable to understand the book. Urag suggests that he find the author, Septimus Sigus.

Rugvir sets out north to find Septimus. After a bit of traveling, Rugvir finds a large iceberg with a wooden door in it. Rugvir enters and sees a man playing with a large Dwemer box. Rugvir speaks to the man, who introduces himself as Septimus. Rugvir speaks to him about the Elder Scroll. Septimus makes some jokes and tells Rugvir that the Elder Scroll can be found in Blackreach. Septimus tells Rugvir that Blackreach is underneath Alftand. Rugvir is then given two lexicons to help him read the Elder Scroll.

Rugvir heads over to Alftand. Upon getting there, Rugvir finds two deserted and run down homes. He also meets an aspiring mage. Rugvir buys a staff from the man, but then steals the money back. Rugvir then enters the glacial ruins of Alftand.

Inside, Rugvir finds an insane Khajit named J’darr arguing with himself over skooma. J’darr then attacks Rugvir and finds that J’darr killed his brother J’zhar over the skooma. Rugvir kills J’darr and continues.

Rugvir makes his way to the Alftand Animonculory while fighting several dwarven creatures. He enters finds the body of Endrast, an adventuring Wood Elf. Rugvir reads his journal and reads that Endrast’s friend Yag were attacked by Falmer.  Rugvir is then attacked by a Dwarven Sphere. Rugvir defeats and carries on. He finds the cave inside and finds Yag gra-Gortwog with Falmer arrows in it. Rugvir is then attacked by a wave of Falmer. Rugvir kills them and enters the ruins again.

Inside the new section of the ruins, Rugvir finds a Falmer nest. He defeats the lurking Falmer and proceeds. Rugvir is then ambushed by another wave of Falmer but he hastily kills them. He then enters another cave section of the ruins, where he is attacked by more Falmer. He kills the Falmer and moves on. Rugvir enters another tower and finally reaches the Alftand Cathredral.

Rugvir sneakily kills a Falmer waiting for him and opens the doors another cave section. Rugvir opens a locked gate and is ambushed by a Dwarvern Centurion. Rugvir traps it between the locked gate and him and kills it.

As Rugvir heads towards a Dwarven Mechanism, he finds two adventurers, Sulla Trebatius and Umana. Uncana tries to warn Sulla to turn back so they can be safe, but Sulla attacks her. They see Rugvir and the fight turns into a free-for-all, with Rugvir coming out on top. Rugvir puts the spherical lexicon in the Dwarven Mechanism, revealing a secret staircase. Rugvir follows the staircase to Blackreach.

Rugvir is astonished by Blackreach upon entering. It is a Dwarvern city made up of smaller Dwarvern cities, Alftand, Mzinchaleft, and Raldbthar. While walking around, Rugvir discovers a crimson nirnroot. He picks it up and explores more. Rugvir then discovers a sewer pipe that leads to the Silent City. Rugvir goes inside and kills the lurking Falmer.

Deeper inside the Silent City, Rugvir finds the Pumping Station and enters. Rugvir finds a man and a woman inside who have become Falmer servants and attack him. Rugvir kills them and re-enters Blackreach.

As Rugvir exits the Pumping Station, he is attacked by a Wispmother, who he quickly kills. Rugvir then is discovered by a Dwarven Centurion Guardian. Rugvir kills it after a life threatening fight. Rugvir then kills a giant and a Chaurus Hunter Fledging. Rugvir then looks up and discovers an orange globe in the sky. Rugvir becomes determined to reach it.

Rugvir makes his way into a large room called the Debate Hall. He is attacked by numerous Falmer servants and Falmer. Rugvir uses Unrelenting Force to fight his enemies. The soundwaves from the shout hit the orange globe and the ringing of the globe awakens a dragon named Vulthuryol. Vulthuryol flies around Blackreach while Rugvir defeats his enemies.

As Rugvir leaves the Debate Hall, Vulthuryol attacks him. Rugvir kills Vulthuryol and absorbs his power. He is then attacked by a Dwarven Centurion Master, who he kills. Two Chaurus Repears then attack him but are quickly defeated. Rugvir then heads to the Tower of Mzark.

Rugvir reaches the Tower of Mzark and finds a large Dwemer contraption. Rugvir  sees the Elder Scroll at the ceiling of the room puts the cube lexicon on the contraption. Rugvir is able to have beacons of light shine through after solving it. He presses the final button and the Elder Scroll is brought down and given to him. Rugvir takes the lexicon and makes his way back to Septimus.

Rugvir returns to Septimus’s outpost and gives Septimus the inscribed lexicon. Septimus tells Rugvir to kill a High Elf, Dark Elf, Wood Elf, Falmer, and Orc and harvest their blood to unlock the Dwemer box. As Rugvir goes to exit the outpost, a Wretched Abyss appears before him and speaks to him. The Abyss revelas himself to be Hermaeus Mora. Hermaeus reveals that once the Dwemer box is opened, Hermaeus will kill Septimus and Rugvir will take his place. He then tells Rugvir to speak to him once the box is opened and disappears.

Rugvir travels to Stillborn Cave to harvest the Falmer Blood. He enters and kills the Chaurus Reaper. He then continues to kill the two Falmer in the next room and harvests the blood of the Falmer Shadowmaster and exits the cave.

Rugvir then travels to the Orc Stronghold Largashbur to kill an orc. But when he arrives he and the orcs are attacked by a giant. Together, they defeat the giant. Two female Orcs named Atub and Ugor are arguing over whether Rugvir is welcomed to the stronghold. As Rugvir leaves, Atub begs him not to go. Atub tells Rugvir that their tribe is cursed and need Rugvir’s help.  She first needs Rugvir to bring her Troll Fat and a Daedra’s Heart to perform a ritual to help lift the curse. Rugvir gives her the ingredients and follows her to the ritual.

Atub introduces Rugvir to Yamarz, the tribe’s leader. Although Yamarz is angry at Atub for letting Rugvir inside the Stronghold, he allows her to perform the ritual. During the ritual, the Daedric prince of the Orcs, Malacath speaks to Yamarz. Malacath is ashamed of Yamarz and demands the club of the Giant Clan’s leader, Shagrol.

Yamarz demands Rugvir’s help. Together they travel to Fallowstone Cave. Along the way, the two defeat bears and spiders. They arrive at the cave and enter. Inside, Yamarz attracts the attention of a giant and some bears, which he and Rugvir defeat. They then exit the cave to Giant’s Grove.

Yamarz tries to bribe Rugvir into killing the giant leader. Yamarz attacks Shagrol and is instantly killed by Shagrol’s attack, leaving Rugvir to kill Shagrol. Rugvir kills Shagrol and is congratulated by Malacath. Rugvir then takes the club. Before leaving, Rugvir harvests Yamarz’s blood.

Rugvir returns to Largashbur. He gives Shagrol’s club to Atub. Rugvir tells her that Yamarz fought bravely but was killed in battle. Malacath then speaks telling Atub that Yamarz was no hero. He tells Rugvir he is the only one worthy to have the club and to put it on his shrine. He places the club on the shirne and Malacath gives him Volendrung, his Daedric artifact. Malacath leaves and makes Gularzob the new leader.

Rugvir then goes to Windhelm. Due to Ulfric Stormcloak’s extreme hatred for anyone that isn’t a Nord, Rugvir goes to kill a dark elf in the city. He starts a conversation with a Dark Elf named Faryl Atheron. Faryl tells Rugvir that as a Dark Elf, there isn’t much he can do in Windhelm. With that said, Rugvir kills him and harvests his blood.

Rugvir then travels to the Riften Docks and meets a Wood Elf named Valindor. Rugvir kills Valindor and uses his power with the Thieves Guild to get out of trouble with the guards.

Rugvir finally goes to the Thalmor Embassy to kill a Thalmor and harvest its High Elf Blood. Rugvir sneaks into the barracks and kills a Thalmor Soldier. He harvests her blood and leaves.

Rugvir then returns to Septimus’s Outpost. Rugvir gives Septimus the blood samples. Septimus mixes the blood into one potion and uses it to open the Dwemer box. Septimus and Rugvir run inside and find a large book. As Septimus runs towards the book, he begins to levitate and suddenly turns to ash. Rugvir takes the book and Hermaeus Mora appears before him again. He gladly gives Rugvir the book, titled Oghma Infinium. Rugvir reads it but it is destroyed and Hermaeus Mora disappears.

Now possessing the Elder Scroll, Rugvir returns to the Throat of the World to meet Paarthurnax. Paarthurnax tells Rugvir to read the scroll at the Time Wound and to hurry. Rugvir reads the scroll and travels through time. He witnesses a fight between three great ancient Nords and dragons. The three ancient Nords, Hakon, Gormlaith, and Felldir, bring Alduin to the ground using the Dragonrend shout. Rugvir learns the shout by watching the battle. Alduin kills Gormalith. As Hakon is about to be killed, Felldir reads the Elder Scroll and banishes Alduin in time. Rugvir’s vision then ends.

As Rugvir’s vision ends, Alduin approaches the Throat of the World. Rugvir and Paarthurnax fight Alduin together. Rugvir’s first few shouts of Dragonrend miss, but he finally hits Alduin. After a long and harsh battle, Rugvir defeats Alduin. Before he flies away, Alduin reveals that he can only be slain in Sovengarde.

Paarthurnax congratulates Rugvir on his victory. Paarthurnax tells Rugvir that they need to trap a dragon to find out where Alduin has gone. The film ends with Rugvir going to Whiterun to trap a dragon at Dragonsreach.
